Sanctions & PEP Reference Master · OFAC, UN, EU — one table

The same sanctioned entity — multiple names, one gap.

25,060 entities resolved from OFAC SDN, the UN Consolidated List, and EU Consolidated Sanctions — deduplicated where the same real person or organization appears on more than one list, with every known alias in one place.

ALI DARASSA
Ali Darassa Mahamat Ali Mahamat Darassa Ali Daras Ali Darrassa Général Ali Darassa

Real entity from the current release. The same person appears across two lists under five spelling variants — a compliance team screening only one list, or matching only exact strings, misses the connection. This is what "resolution" means here: a source-provided cross-reference (EU→UN) or a phonetic name match confirmed by a shared nationality, never a fuzzy guess alone.

What can you do with this?
Three ways buyers actually use this data
🔍
Screen a name against every list at once
"Is this counterparty sanctioned, under any name?" One lookup against a unified table instead of four separate portal searches with four different name-matching quirks.
→ See cross-list matched rows
🧩
Catch the match a single-list search would miss
"The name on my transaction doesn't exactly match any one list." Phonetic matching + a real secondary signal (shared nationality) surfaces the connection a plain string search can't.
→ See phonetic-matched rows
📋
Build a screening baseline from day one
"We need OFAC + EU + UK coverage, not just one list." A unified feed with real per-source provenance, so you can filter to exactly the lists your compliance program requires.

Plain English
What these columns mean
canonical_name
The name from the earliest-resolved source record in a matched group — not necessarily the "most official" name, just a stable anchor. Every other known name variant is in aliases.
entity_type
INDIVIDUAL, ORGANIZATION, VESSEL, or AIRCRAFT — derived from each source's own real taxonomy (OFAC's sdnType, EU's subjectType, UN's <INDIVIDUAL>/<ENTITY> elements), not a guess.
resolution_method
EXACT_ID = a source-provided cross-reference (EU's own unitedNationId field matching a UN record). PHONETIC_MATCH = a name-sound match plus a shared nationality — never a fuzzy match alone. UNRESOLVED = no cross-list match found; the large majority of real entities, reflecting genuinely narrow overlap between lists, not a resolution shortfall.
aliases
Every known name variant for a resolved entity, pooled across all matched source records — the alias graph itself. Empty for single-list entities with no aliases in their one source record.
source_list
Which of the 3 active sources (OFAC_SDN / EU / UN) a listing came from — one resolved entity can have listings on more than one list.
confidence_score
0.97 for EXACT_ID, 0.80 for PHONETIC_MATCH, 0.50 for UNRESOLVED — reflects how the entity was resolved, not a subjective quality judgment.

⚠ What this data does NOT tell you

This release covers OFAC SDN, UN, and EU only. UK OFSI was removed 2026-07-18 pending a licensing/redistribution review (see docs/data-sources.md in the pipeline repo). India-specific sources (RBI Caution Notices, SEBI Debarment Orders, ED/FEMA notices) are not included yet — RBI has no structured bulk source, and SEBI/ED need further work before they can be added honestly.

PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) lists are explicitly out of scope for this version — a separate product scope, not bundled in here.

nationalities is populated for only ~13% of real entities (most source records simply don't carry it) — do not assume a missing nationality means "no nationality," it usually means "not reported by the source."

What it's good for instead: a unified, deduplicated screening baseline across 4 major global lists, with a real alias graph connecting known name variants — not a complete global sanctions/PEP universe.

Pricing mirrors trade's/entities' structure (same buyer motion, same base tiers) — not yet calibrated against real sanctions buyer feedback, so numbers may change. Given this product's core differentiator is the daily delta feed, Monthly is the tier most likely to matter more here than it did for the two prior products — see project-plan.md Commercial Model.
